New England Alpaca Show – 2011

Glenhope had a very successful show in both the fleece and animal classes. In the fleece section we came home with three championships, a reserve champion and the supreme champion fleece. We also received two championships in the animal classes so had a good weekend in spite of the unfavourable weather.

Glenhope at Toowoomba Show

Glenhope had a very successful day at the recent Toowoomba Show. We took 7 males and they all came home with a ribbon.

Results were:

Juniour male LF – Glenhope Felix – second

Intermediate male White – Glenhope Franco – first and Champion

Intermediate male Light fawn – Glenhope Flinders – first

- Glenhope Fernando – third

Adult male white – Chachani Talisker – first & Champion (owned by Susie Clarke)

Animals from the New England did particularly well on the day.

Females

Females classified as elite are those who have consistently produced progeny that perform well in SRS fleece markers i.e. density, length, softness, lustre, deep bold crimp and low fine primary fibres. They are also conformationally sound and are worthy of entry into an embryo transplant programme.

Supreme winning female at 4 years of age. Cyrah has skin tested well showing high density and fine primary fibres. She has a soft handle and a deep bold crimp.

Glenhope Eccles is a solid frame female with high density and thin fine bundling staples. She impressed the participants at the SRS conference in Western Australia in 2010 held at Suncloud Alpacas and we have high expectation for her future as a E.T. doner.

Her second fleece results 18.3 mic, SD 3.5.
