Glenhope – Stud Sires

Our superior quality males were classed by Dr Jim Watts using the SRS® breeding system. All of our older males have been skin tested for density, length and the fineness of the primary (guard) fibre and have been placed on the SRS® recommended list of males. Males placed on this list must meet the ever increasing bench marks set by Dr Jim Watts and had their progeny assessed annually. Our machos are sourced from superior bloodlines. They are early maturing with high fertility levels. We aim to have them working before two years of age.
We select for high amplitude in our fleece as this results in good elasticity in the yarn. This is essential for maintaining the resilience of the fabric enabling it to spring back to its original shape.

Mystro was sired by Glenhope Gibralter. He was unfortunately not skin tested due to Jim being unwell. However he did assess him as worthy to join our stable of stud males. We used him quite a lot last year prior to him being sold to Jen and Geoff Smith. I am sure they will not be disappointed with their purchase as his progeny are stand outs. We are enjoying seeing this new generation of crias dropping. Something that we will definitely miss.
